Breakthrough in the Entertainment Industry
His career path saw him appointed by President Clinton to the Broadcasting Board of Governors of United States in 2000. Pattiz was re-appointed to the same position by President Bush in 2002. The board is responsible for overseeing all the activities of nonmilitary stations including Voice of America, Middle East Broadcasting, Radio Free Europe, and Radio Liberty among others.
Pattiz was ceremoniously placed in the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2009 which led to him being awarded the Giants of Broadcasting Award by the Library of America Broadcasting.
His desire to produce and distribute quality broadcasting programming resulted in founding and launching of Courtside Entertainment Group in 2010.
As he realized the untapped potential in the audio broadcast, Norman Pattiz founded PodcastOne by the end of 2012. The media channel which focuses on audio programming quickly picked the pace, and today it stands as the leading producer and distributor of audio podcasts.
Norman acknowledges the assistance he received from Kit Gray when starting PodcastOne. Gray was by then working from a home office and was involved in presenting other people’s podcasts. When Norman was introduced to Gray, they both started including their production, and it turned out okay. Through the years that PodcastOne has been active, they have been using the same strategy, and it has proved to be a good ride.
Among its clients include famous personalities and brands such as Laura Ingraham, Chris Jericho, Heather Dubrow, Larry King, Adam Corolla, and Shaquille O’Neal. The channel distributes Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Dan Patrick, Steve Austin, Penn Jillette, WNYC Radio Lab, and Freakonomics among other over 200 podcasts.
